SAN ANTONIO, Texas (June 5, 2021) — After a lackluster one-off away loss against the San Antonio Flying Chanclas, the Brazos Valley Bombers are returning to the Brazos Valley for a homestand full of fun, trivia and discounted drinks.
The Bombers, who have competed for the last three nights straight, had to travel and face-off against a freshly rested San Antonio team with an entirely healthy bullpen at its fingertips. Though not the result the team was hoping for, there is still plenty of baseball left in the summer in the Bombers’ road to the team’s third-straight TCL championship.
The Flying Chanclas opened the scoring floodgates in the bottom of the fourth, capitalizing on a passed ball and an error to set the score at 0-2. San Antonio followed up in the sixth inning to tack on two more runs. After Saturday’s game, Brazos Valley falls to a 4-3 record while San Antonio remains undefeated at a perfect 7-0. The teams will face each other another 10 times this season, giving the navy and gold plenty of chances to exact revenge,
The Bombers return to Edible Field for a three-game homestand beginning Tuesday, June 8 against the Victoria Generals. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. in what will be the summer’s first Trivia Tuesday. Fans can win big prizes and expect team discounts on tickets.
