Monday Magic at Edible Field Resulting in a Walkoff Victory!

Bryan/College Station, TX (July 24, 2023) – Bombers walk it off for the second time in three home games for a final score of 8-7 in the 10th! This game was tight all evening with the score being 6-6 going into extras but the Bombers stayed alive and kept momentum going all the way to the end allowing them to move back into the winners column. Many Bombers made their debut tonight and these athletes played a critical role in tonight’s win setting up their new team for a hopeful future.

In the first this Monday evening division one athlete Christian Smith Johnson advances to 1st on a single, logging an RBI scoring Cole Modgling to begin the high number of hits for the Bombers this evening. The next offensive action the Bombers saw in tonight’s game would be in the third inning with back to back hits earned by Angelo State teammates Justin Harris and Jacob Guerrero. Before scoring for the Bombers in this inning for the second run of the night Justin Harris stole second showing off his speed!

Newcomer to the Bombers and the teams third starting Angelo State Ram, Kamden Kelton places a ball perfectly in play for his first hit on this Brazos Valley team to help keep his team  on base in the fourth. Another Bomber making his debut tonight Parker Airhart, a recent signee for UTA, earned a beautiful double in the fourth which would also earn him an RBI as Kamden Kelton scores already proving his place on this top Brazos Valley team.

TCL home run leader Simon Larranaga kept the Bombers on base in the 5th knocking a ball deep for a double and would score on an RBI single for Christian Smith Johnson keeping the game close against Seguin. Parker Airhart continued to be consistent at the plate with a leadoff base hit in the seventh and this momentum will allow him and Cole Modgling to score in this inning. These runs were also assisted by RBIs put up by Justin Harris and Simon Larranaga.

In the bottom of the 10th the Bombers tied the game in extras with a perfectly placed bunt by Chrisitan Smith Johnson to fool first baseman for an opposing team error to bring Jacob Guerrero home with no outs on the board. This bunt shows how smart the Bombers play when it matters and it paid off for this Brazos Valley team multiple times this evening keeping them in the game! In the next at bat Kamden Kelton showed his smarts with a great at bat resulting in a payoff pitch walk to win the game in his debut for the team!
